The flat styled 5KPlayer apparantly presents major utilities for users, simple and easy to use. KMPlayer inherits the old schooled media player upper-left powerful general button. Also, notice that different from KMPlayer, 5KPlayer UI has no borders and during playback, the seekbar can automatically disapear

Using the freshly downloaded KMPlayer, I thought it was no longer a bundle ware breedingtunk. But to my surprise, the next day I opened KMPlayer, this newest version 5.1.4.8 seemed stilled bundled with many ads. Though not aggressively setting itself as the default media player, KMPlayer interface with those ugly ads really annoyed me when I stopped the video playback. 5KPlayer on the other hand is clean without any ads/bundleware.
KMPlayer somehow has format limitations like .rmvb format, which cannot be played with KMP. But with 5KPlayer, almost any format under the sun including .rmvb, vob, xvid can be played.

3D 360 Degree VR Video:
KMPlayer can playback 360 degree videos and turn your common videos into 360 degrees natively but 5KPlayer can hardly make that happen directly. 5KPlayer empowers users to free download online 360 degree videos free but you will need a 360 VR player to truly watch the video. But luckly, both KMPlayer and 5KPlayer can playback 3D videos and 4K H265 high-res videos.
CPU Occupation and Consumption:
With 5KPlayer and KMPlayer installed on my poor Windows 10 PC (32bit PentiumR Dual-Core, E5300 @2.60GHz), my first task is to test their playback ability using a 10bit 4K HEVC video I have in hand. The outcome is KMPlayer manages to play the video with the CPU usage surging up to 93/96, choppy but truly playable. 5KPlayer on the other hand remains its CPU usage below 66 while the playback quality is comparatively worse than KMPlayer.
More advanced than KMPlayer, 5KPlayer manages to reach out to almost all the online video sharing sites. It helps users to free download videos, Soundcloud songs, etc from over 300 online video sites. You can also convert the downloaded online videos/music from Stupidvideos, Vimeo, YouTube to MP3 and ACC in best auditory quality. 5KPlayer supports 5.1 surround sound AirPlay and 7.1 surround sound playback, which KMPlayer fails to be on par with.

---prepared according to related data and 5KPlayer & KMPlayer user comments
Verdict: For those who hate adware/bundleware and desire streaming download function, choose 5KPlayer; for better 10bit 4K HEVC video playback on computers with poor specs, pick KMPlayer.
But why not get both the great playback ability and video streaming download feature? Having KMPlayer and 5KPlayer installed on your computer would be a perfect solution.
